Mike Adams, C.E.O

Over 15 years ago, Mike Adams made his professional foray into real estate investing. In that time, he has become the market leader in furnished executive rentals. With both operational management and government policy experience, he knows how the real estate market ebbs and flows based on policy changes, creating demand for his knowledge and experience. 

The Smart Stays homeowner network relies on Mike’s insight and experience for sound investment advice and to exceed their income expectations. 

His dedicated wife, Kristine, also helps him operate the business.  He is a father of two sons and his dachshund Cooper, his constant companion. He enjoys entertaining friends and family at his executive property in Queenston. 

He has built this business on trust, integrity, hard work and late nights.  He is regarded as an industry expert and is often consulted in regards to policy at both a national and international level.

He is approachable, reliable and passionate and he is the visionary of the company.

Kristine Adams, President

Kristine Adams

Kristine Adams and her husband Mike started Smart Stays International by investing in real estate themselves. They purchased 10 homes over a 7 year period, realizing that there was a high demand for short-term vacation rentals. This model’s ROI far exceeds that of a long term rental structure. She helped scale Smart Stays to achieve critical mass and has spent many hours building the business as a two-person team. 

After years on the front lines advertising the homes of friends and family who noticed their success, she is now working behind the scenes to ensure compliance, efficiency and constantly looking to improve the business’s standing. 

Always an entrepreneur, Kristine, has also helped furnish over 50 Smart Stays properties with her business “Designs by Kristine”, our in-house interior design team. Her work drives exceptional value for homeowners. She also manages our “Flat Lease” department which is reserved for properties valued at over $1,000,000 with a guaranteed income.

Outside of work, she enjoys exploring local restaurants with her husband. She has recently begun to learn how to play the guitar.

Brittany Hemsley, Operations Manager

Brittany, the Operations Manager, oversees more than 35 employees and 75 properties. Her experience in hospitality, ensures every part of the Smart Stays program runs smoothly. 

With over 5 years of experience with Smart Stays she has worked in many different departments. Her strong work ethic has meant that she has moved up the ranks to her current role. Her determination and charming personality are only a few of the keys to her success with Smart Stays.

She enjoys spending quality time with her husband and two young sons. She can often be found visiting a local splash pad, jungle gym or relaxing outside having a nice family dinner.

Mike Pizycki, Senior Account Manager

Mike Pizycki has taken his extensive experience in the hotel and restaurant industry and has transitioned into real estate investing and management. His role as part of the Smart Stays team is integral as he manages marketing forecasting, homeowner on-boarding, listing optimization, and investor relations. His talent for forseeing the needs of Smart Stays homeowners, makes the process of joining the roster simple and transparent.   

Paired with his hospitality background, Mike brings with him over 9 years of sales experience managing thousands of accounts throughout Ontario. Some of his larger accounts procuring over $1,000,000 in products annually. 

Mike Pizycki, not only understands the real estate market, he is a part of it. He has purchased and renovated multiple properties, placing importance on staying informed on market trends, policy, and profit forecasts. 

When not in the office, he enjoys mountain biking, reading, being a part of collaborative groups of other real estate investors and helping create pathways to financial freedom for others  through real estate investing.
